HPE Alletra MP Peer motion
Hi
When migrating data to an Alletra MP array using Peer Motion - do the destination FC ports need to be dedicated Peer ports? I believe on the source array it's possible to share Peer ports and Host ports on the same controller port - but is the same possible with the destination array?
many thanks

Re: HPE Alletra MP Peer motion
Yes, have to configure as Peer Ports.
If I remember correctly, the Source Ports are configured as Host and not Peer, or both.

Re: HPE Alletra MP Peer motion
OK thanks
And one quick question on the zoning assistance information. We have zoned the physcial ports between the source and destination arrays - to achieve this we created a new zone with 0:3:1 on the source array to 0:3:1 on the destination aray for fabric A and then on fabric B we created a new zone with 1:3:2 on the source array to 1:3:2 on the destination array - so each zone just has 2 members .
The zoning assistance then shows 8 x NPIV ports for each fabric and we can see these on the Name Server on each FC switch as 'initiators' - do we next need to edit our existing zones to add these 8 x NPIV WWNs so that each peer motion zone will have 10 members now?
thanks
